Meet Mark
I started building furniture as a child, and I have the photo to prove it. My father built homes, and as a family, we where responsible for many aspects of the construction. This was my first introduction to visualizing a project from start to finish. By working with my dad, my 3 brothers, and our mom, I learned tricks of the trade, what not to do, what works, and how to help others avoid mistakes. These early years were just the beginning, but they were where I prepared and started a lifelong process of working in the industry. In the 1980s, my experience and growth added another set of skills, interior design and custom furniture building and upholstery. Partnering with Weslyn Williams, we began what is known as Custom Designs by Mark Maron, today. Weslyn and I have worked with customers all over the United States, with projects ranging from large scale builds from the ground up to conservative remodels. We have projects that have lasted years, while others only a few short days, however with each project, we pay special attention to not only the client's needs, wants, and desires, but also the budget.
I have always loved what I do and have never wavered from this career path. Since 1980, I have dedicated my life to helping others make their house feel like home. The work I do brings me so much joy, and in many instances, it also brings about close friendships. The relationships I have developed along the way are the cornerstone of my work, and are the reason why I keep doing the work that I do.
